Child safety standards
Last updated: 8 October 2026
Muthumina is a matrimonial service for adults aged 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This page sets out our standards and how we enforce them.
What we prohibit
- Any content that sexualises a child, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
- Grooming, or any attempt to contact, befriend or arrange to meet a child.
- Profiles created by, for or about anyone under 18, including parents creating a profile for a child who is not yet an adult.
- Arranging, promoting or discussing the marriage of anyone under 18.
- Sharing or requesting images of children in a sexual or exploitative context.
Age requirement
- Every member must be 18 or older. Date of birth is required when a profile is created, and accounts under 18 cannot be made.
- Our moderation team reviews profiles and photos, and removes any account that appears to belong to, or be about, a minor.
- Parents and guardians may manage a profile only for an adult son or daughter.
How to report a concern
- In the Muthumina app: open the member's profile or your conversation with them, tap the flag icon, and choose "Under 18 or child safety" or another reason that fits. You can also block the member there.
- By email: write to [email protected]. Reports about child safety go to the top of our review queue.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call Sri Lanka Police on 119, or the National Child Protection Authority's 1929 child helpline.
How we respond
- We review child safety reports as a priority, aiming to act within 24 hours.
- We remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved.
- We preserve the evidence and report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the authorities, including Sri Lanka Police, the National Child Protection Authority and, where appropriate, the NCMEC CyberTipline.
- We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
Compliance with the law
We comply with the child protection laws of Sri Lanka and with Google Play's child safety standards policy, and we update our processes as those requirements change.
Child safety contact
